I was bound to happen eventually

Lexi is starting to get mor advenurous with her sitting in her bean back. she is sitting up in it and leaning over to get toys on the floor. well I was walsking from the kitchen and saw her doing this and she was about to fall back and I didnt catch her in time and she bumped her head on the ceramic tile floor. I think she hit the couch first so that kinda buffered her but she cried for a good five minutes.

this is the first time she's bumped her head? She's going to have to get used to that!Once she starts walking--and even crawling--she'll be bumping, banging, tripping, falling and sprawling all over the place. The trick is, mom, not to make a big deal about it. Making a big fuss is a guaranteed path to a baby meltdown. She'll learn quickly that it's a sure way to get sympathy and cuddles from you. So when she bumps and bruises, give her an exagerrated "oops" or "uh-oh" and laugh or clap. I'm serious! You said before that you and Oscar (especially Oscar) tend to over-react if she bumps something and she'll learn from your reactions more than anything.

Its funny because when she fell i really didn't react. in the past I would have freaked out. i guess I am getting a little better ;)

Sorry she bumped her head. The more she does it the shorter the crying jags get. Sometimes Emma does it now and doesn't even cry. Just depends on the circumstance.
